The Founders
Richard E. Clemow and Mary Ann Clemow started Business & Family Insurors, Inc. in August of
1982. Prior to this, Richard served as the Deputy Insurance Commissioner of Pinellas County for the
State of Florida Department of Insurance for 10 years, while Mary Ann was the Office Manager and
Commercial Underwriter for a local insurance agency.
Business & Family Insurors, Inc. was founded on the principle that everything we do should be done with integrity. From the very beginning, we decided that our motto would be “where integrity is a way of
business.” This commitment has remained unchanged as our children—Karen, Richard Jr., Ronald, and
daughter-in-law Angela—have continued this philosophy. We are now a 3rd generation business as our
granddaughter Michaela has joined us. We take pride in maintaining our family-run insurance agency
where clients are not just a number but valued members of our community. In fact, most of our clients
feel as though they are a part of our family, further solidifying our commitment to integrity and personal
service.

Customer Service
Charlene came out of retirement in 2022 and began working for us part time, calling upon her administrative and marketing background skills to assist us with the day-to-day customer service duties of our office. She has lived in Pinellas County for over 50 years and has one daughter and one grandson who are native Floridians.
Her voice is the one you will most likely hear when you call in, although since joining our "family" she is often told that she sounds just like Karen and Angela!
Charlene's main hobby is golf, and she is the current president of the Tampa Bay Chapter of the American Singles Golf Association. Since she works part time, this means she spends as much time on the course as possible. One of her other passions is fishing and between the two, that's a great reason to live in Tampa Bay.
